Microsoft is delivering some festive cheer to its Windows Phone users this Christmas in the form of extra SkyDrive space.
Owners of handsets running the operating system can claim 20GB of additional storage space on the service.
All users currently get 7GB by default but the gesture will give current – and potential new customers receiving a Windows Phone for Christmas – more space to store, photos, videos and other files.
Microsoft is giving handset holders until the end of January to redeem the offer, which only lasts a year.
It’s not the first time the computing giant has given away extra space on its dedicated cloud storage service.
At present, it is still giving those who buy a Surface 2 or Surface 2 Pro 200GB of extra storage, which lasts two years.
